Since 2007, the SDSU Library has been working with a community group, the Chicana/o Studies Archive Advisory Committee, to preserve original records from the Chicano Movement of the 1960's and 1970's. These materials record the struggle for civil rights and the end to second-class citizenship and educational underachievement.
Together we have collected papers, oral histories, photographs, flyers, organizational records and other ephemera that reflect the spirit of change from those times and the struggles to improve life in the border region. The Chicana/o Archive at SDSU is a legacy of original materials that will continue to inspire scholarship and understanding.
Help us continue our efforts to preserve a part of history.
